Toronto Fashion Week

SKOOKUMbrand® joins the Fur Council of Canada and the Fur is Green campaign during Toronto Fashion Week. Designer Megan Waterman experiments with a hemp/kasha-lined anorak for the event. Coming from the north herself, Waterman is likely the only professional fashion designer in Canada that has taken the time to learn the fur industry from the ground-up, by becoming a registered Yukon fur harvester herself. Believing that fur harvesters are Stewards of the land that share values with other conservationists, she is directing a significant portion of her company’s profits towards wildlife habitat protection.

Arpel FUR

Arguably the world’s leading authority on fur fashions, Arpel FUR and the Ars Arpel Group of Milan, have featured Northern Garments and SKOOKUMbrand® Yukon Anoraks in a full-page article in their October 2006 issue.

Style Magazine

Style Magazine has been Canada’s leading fashion and apparel industry portal for over 100-years and they have fostered the Fashion Export Awards to recognize Canada’s finest in the fashion and apparel industry. After being considered alongside the best in the business, Megan Waterman designer of SKOOKUMbrand® Yukon Anoraks respectfully accepted the award for Industry Innovation.
